Restoration made respectable?

A statement by Ove Hoegh-Guldberg that Australia should consider "limited activity to physically protect or even re-seed damaged reefs" may be a sign that ecological restoration could go mainstream (see Gardening to save the reef).

Hitherto, some groups such as the Global Coral Reef Alliance have been cast as marginal or extreme for saying things a bit like this, and acting upon them.
