"Researchers studying coral reefs in the Arabian Gulf have found encouraging signs that corals in Abu Dhabi and Qatar are regenerating", says WWF (more here).

Which can't be said for the Red Sea, where the environment has been degrading with the construction of infrastructure, as well as over fishing. And they said tourism never hurt no one.
